Our Vaccine Philosophy

Our practice believes that all children should receive the recommended vaccines according to the guidelines provided by the AAP and the CDC. Vaccines are safe and effective in preventing diseases and health complications in children and young adults. Regular vaccinations help children ward off infections, and are administered as one of the safest and best methods of disease prevention.

We are happy to discuss your concerns about vaccines at your child's next visit.

Vaccine Safety: The Facts A brief fact sheet on vaccines from the AAP

Bexsero is a vaccine used for the prevention of serogroup B meningococcal disease.  It is given in a 2-dose series.  The AAP recommends this vaccine for routine use in persons 10 years of age and older who are at an increased risk of serogroup B meningococcal disease (i.e. persons with persistent complement component diseases, persons with anatomic or functional asplenia, healthy persons at increased risk because of a serogroup B meningococcal disease outbreak).  While it is not recommended for routine use in healthy persons not at an increased risk, you may request the vaccine.  Please let the physician know if you would like your child to receive Bexsero.
