Charles G. Ison entered the University of Kentucky in 1982 and graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology that he received with high distinction and department honors. He then entered the University of Kentucky’s College of Medicine. In 1990, Charles G. Ison began his residency in pediatrics at the Shands Teaching Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Since completing his residency in 1993, Dr. Ison has been in private practice in general pediatrics as a member of Pediatric and Adolescent Associates in Lexington. He writes a monthly column for Lexington Family Magazine on pediatric issues. Dr. Ison is board certified through the American Academy of Pediatrics and is also certified as a Fellow through the academy.
